PRES. WEAH DEPARTS LIBERIA For 59th ECOWAS SUMMIT.

Monrovia-June 19. 2021-WTVNEWS: President George M. Weah has departed Liberia to participate in the 59th Ordinary Summit of the Authority of Heads of State of ECOWAS, slated for today in Accra.

The President departed early Friday, June 18. 2021, being accompanied by Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Information among other senior government officials.

According to an Executive Mansion release, Finance and Development Planning Minister Samuel D. Tweah Jr will Chair the Cabinet in consultation with the Vice President and via telephone with the President.

At the same time, the release indicates a denial of reports circulating various social and mainstream media platforms about the involvement of the President’s convoy in an accident on the Robertsfield Highway.

The release characterized the Information as “completely false and misleading, and a diabolical lie being spread by wicked elements that the President’s Convoy was involved in the accident”.

“Presidential Convoy did come across an accident that had already occurred long before it had reached the scene between a regular Police Patrol Vehicle that is not assigned to the Presidential Detail and a Tricycle locally referred to as Kehkeh” the release states.

The Executive Mansion release further disclosed the effort of the Medical Team assigned to the Presidential Convoy, in rendering medical assistance to the injured passengers of the Kehkeh, after considering how terrible the occurrence was.
