MAN, 35, JAILED FOR ALLEGED SEXUAL ABUSE AND VIDEO TAPING TEENAGE GIRL

Temple of Justice-September 14, 2021-WTVNEWS: Amid the rise in cases of Sexual and Gender Based Violence across Liberia, Karr Davis Fanyen, age 35, has been sent to the Monrovia Central Prison, awaiting court trial for alleged sexual abuse of a teenager in Monrovia.

Police investigations and the pressing of formal charges were completed recently and Davis was put behind bars.

According to the police charge sheet, on August 25, 2021, relative of the survivor and resident of the ELWA community reported at the Women and children protection section of the Liberia National Police Zone 8 and alleged that her 14-year-old daughter was sexually abused on August 6, 2021 by defendant Karr Davis Fanyen.

Defendant Fanyen has since admitted to the allegation, after being acquainted with his Miranda rights and investigated.

Police Charge sheet indicated that survivor explained that the end of July 2021, she started chatting on Facebook messenger with a lady identified as Bebe Bridgette, who said that she lived in Switzerland and she was asked by this Facebook account user whether she knows defendant Fanyen. But she said she told him no.

The account continued that the lady said she had told Karr Davis Fanyen about helping her because she and her husband, John Bridgette have a charity center and Karr Davis Fanyen is in care of it in Liberia. But she claimed that she never knew defendant Fanyen was using double Facebook account to fool the teenager.

The survivor averred that Bridgette sent her nude video and told her to send her nude video or photo and she sent her nude photos to Bebe Bridgette.

Explaining her ordeal to police investigators, the survivor said that after two days, Bebe Bridgette who purported to be a woman, again behaved like a man or husband to Bebe Bridgette using the Facebook account name as John Bebe Bridgette texted her and asked her if she is into lesbian business with his wife Bebe Bridgette but she told him no and he told her that he sent her nude photos to Fanyen so he can show the photos to her people and post it on Facebook.

The survivor further narrated that she pleaded with John Bridgette, the same using Bebe Bridgette purported to be a woman not to send her nude photos to Fanyen so that he can put them on Facebook.

But John Bridgette, who was also using Bebe Bridgette on another Facebook account, told her that the only way he will not post her nude photos on Facebook should have sex with Karr Davis Fanyen.

She lamented, claiming that on Friday, August 6, 2021, defendant Karr Davis Fanyen sent for her. They met at the ELWA Junction where she said he took her to a local motel known as making show on the Ab. Tolbert road in Paynesville, and sexually abused her by inserting his penis inside her private part and her mouth. And while he sexually abusing her, he video recorded it, she alleged.

The survivor concluded after defendant Fanyen sexually abused her, she went home. But she said that he later called her and told her that the video recording was not fine because she was crying during the time he was sexually abusing her; so they needed to do it again.

But the teenage girl told police investigators that she told him no and that he threatened that if she didn’t go back, he will post her nude photos and videos on Facebook. It was at the point, she scheduled to meet him on August 25, 2021, when she informed her parents. And during their meeting on August 25, 2021, her father apprehended defendant Fanyen.

Fanyen is currently behind bars at the Monrovia Central Prison for the charges levied against him.

The Survivor, according to our Reporter is now living in fear and torture due to the incident.
