Politics Reportedly Interfering with Patients Health Fish Town Referral Hospital
Fish Town: Fear of national politics is reportedly deterring scores citizens from accessing seeking medical treatment from the Fish Town Referral Center.
According to some of the patients, many of the nurses responsible for care or retreatment including other health workers at the hospital are directly involved into the 2023 national politics by wearing party outfits and campaigning thus abandoning their duties.
The citizens termed as unethical the health workers action to abandon the facility in pursuit of political campaign activities.
It can be recalled at one of the campaign’s rally in recent days held in Fish-Town, some nurses assigned at the Fish-Town referral hospital publicly announced that her salary was placed on hold for her involment into politics and at the same time alleged that her land lady has asked her out of her house because she’s always playing their opponents political songs.
Speaking to our reporter, Martha Weah of Fish-Town alleged that a health worker was seen speaking aganist some patients who had gone at the facility to seek treatment for voting for incumbent George Weah; something she said is unethical.
But addressing the public on a local radio in the county, River Gee County Health Officer, Dr. Henry Y. Dugulu denied receiving information of such but he encouraged citizens and residents of the county to report any health worker seen wearing on campaign outfits or campagning at any of River Gee’s health facilities.
Dr. Dugulu told the public that investigation is ongoing at every facility of the county health team to establish those health workers involved campagning during working hours. He further vowed to punish those involved in accordance with the Health working policy if they are found liable.
Dr. Dugulu has appealed to citizens to make use of the referal hospital and other health centers. He at the same time apologized on behalf of the health authorities of River Gee for experiencing such an unethical behavior carried out on by some workers.
