HOUSE OFFICIALLY INDUCTS TWO NEWLY ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES

CAPITOL HILL-LIBERIA: The House of Representatives today inducted two newly elected Representatives from November 16, 2021, by Elections. The Oath of office was administered to Hon. Finda Gborie-Lansanah of Bomi County Electoral District #1 and Nimba County Electoral District #1 Lawmaker, Samuel Brown by the House Speaker, Dr. Bhofal Chambers.

Recently, the National Elections Commission certificated and declared the two, winners of the recent By-Elections in Districts 1 of Nimba and Bomi Counties.

The newly elected Representatives now replaced Senators Edwin Melvin Snowe who won as Senator of Bomi County and Jeremiah Koung who also won in Nimba County during the December 8, 2020, Special Senatorial Elections.

Their induction was in keeping with Rule 11.1 of the Houseโ€™s Rules and Procedures. Rule 11.1 of the Houseโ€™s Rules and Procedures states: โ€œEach member of the House of Representatives before taking his/her seat, shall take an oath or affirmation to uphold and defend the Constitution and the laws of the country as well as to faithfully discharge the duties and functions of the office as a member of the House of Representatives.โ€

Making special remarks shortly after their induction into office, the lawmakers lauded their respective constituents for the confidence reposed in them, and the Government of Liberia for providing funding, and the National Elections Commission for conducting free, fair elections in their respective counties.
