Ellen Attoh Wreh Battles For Re-election; Calls for the support of Gender Equality at House of Representatives

Kakata: With just a day to the crucial October 10 Presidential and Legislative Elections in Liberia, Margibi County District #3 Incumbent Representative Ellen Attoh Wreh is rallying for equal women’s representation at the House of Legislature.

Hon. Attoh who is the lone female law maker in Margibi County is seeking re-election in district #3, Margibi County.

Speaking at the launch of her political campaign rally which was mostly dominated by women, the Margibi County representative candidate told supporters to continue believing in her and entrust her with another six years for the betterment of the district.

“Thank you for believing in me to continue doing what we have started, you have proven it today. I could have struggled for words. From what I am seeing we just need to give God the glory”, she added.

She noted that women are key decision makers; therefore, they must ensure that she is re-elected during the October polls for adequate women representation at the Liberian legislature.

Hon. Attoh also promised continued advocacy aimed at promote women empowerment through skills training programs, education and help women build self-confidence to take their place in the Liberian society.

She furthered that, gone are the days that women will be at the back while men are at the front, noting that it is now time that the women of Liberia stand together to fight for rebuilding of country.

“This is what we look forward to, the mandate of the people. We said that we are not going to do this work alone and we was able to work with our people over the years. This is where we are and again you have demonstrated that your mind is made up”, Hon. Ellen Attoh stressed.

The Margibi County District #3 representative Candidate encouraged supporters to be careful during as they go to cast their votes.

She cautioned residents of the district to put aside conflict of interest and elect her for the continuous improvement of their lives and the development of the district.

She emphasized “I remain your humble servant Ellen Attoh Wreh. My place on the ballot box is number one. For my mothers, if you are unable to count; just see my face”.

Ellen Attoh Wreh at the same time called on Liberians to be peaceful as they go to the polls to elect their leaders. She believes that election is an exchange of ideas and it gives the people the power to examine their leaders.

Meanwhile, the Youth League of the Coalition for Democratic Change Margibi County Chapter, has endorsed the re-election bid of Rep. Ellen Attoh Wreh.

According to the Chairman of the CDC Youth League in Margibi County Abu Fofana, the endorsement is as a result of Hon. Attoh’s ability over the six years to properly represent the people of district #3, Margibi County at the House of Representatives. “We are pleased to endorse the reelection bid of Attoh. This decision was taken by the national elective committee of the CDC.
We will do everything to ensure that Hon. Attoh is election”, he added.

The campaign rally of Hon. Attoh brought together hundreds of supporters and well wishers . They marched through Kakata city.
