LIBERIA-October 22, 2020-WTVNEWS: The Four (4) Collaborating Political Parties has reaffirmed its commitment to staging a peaceful and indefinite nationwide protest action ahead of the Senatorial elections scheduled for December 8, 2020, in Liberia.

The Protest is expected to begin on October 28, 2020.
“Let me reaffirmed that we are going to stage our peaceful and indefinite nationwide protest action come December 8, nothing can stop us”, a CPP statement noted.

The CPP, weeks ago, pronounced that it will stage a sustained nationwide protest beginning October 28 2020 after the Supreme Court refused to grant a writ of Mandamus filed by CPP requesting the National Elections Commission (NEC) to conduct a clean-up of the 2017 Voter’s roll.

According to Daniel Sando of Liberty Party, the integrity of the upcoming election is key to the sustainability of Liberia’s peace and democratic process emphasizing that NEC must be made to clean up the voter’s roll inorder to guarantee a Peaceful, fair and credible electoral process.

The Liberty Party Stewart noted that NEC must listen and act accordingly due to the magnitude of discrepancies that were characterized by the just ended Voter’s roll update.

“The integrity of this election is very important to the sustainability of our peace and democratic process, NEC must be made to clean up the voter’s roll inorder to guarantee a Peace, fair and credible electoral process, we are serious,” Sando asserted.

Daniel Sando added that the CPP will continue to be involved with campaign activities ahead of the pending senatorial elections but mentioned that the Party’s planned protest will draw the attention of stakeholders on issues that pertain the elections.
