Zwedru –July 6, 2021-WTVNEWS: In an effort to support health authorities and the Government of Liberia to combat the spread of Covid-19 in Grand Gedeh, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) recently presented a brand-new ambulance to the County Heath team.

Receiving the keys on behalf of the people of Grand Gedeh and the County Health team, Superintendent Kai Farley lauded the UNHCR family for a timely gesture and promised that the donation will be used for its intended purpose.

For his part, Grand Gedeh County Heath officer Dr. Augustine Fannieh welcomed the donation and at the time praised UNHCR for their continuous support to the government of Liberia and its people in Grand Gedeh.
Dr. Fannieh said the county health team has been struggling for a little over a year to get to hard-to-reach clinics for patients due to the breakdown of the only functional ambulance had within the team’s system.

“With the resurgence of the virus in the county and presenting this Ambulance to the team will greatly help us ease movement to high to reach and nearby health facilities to save lives”. Grand Gedeh County Health Officer said.
