Rep. Wesso Bags GNN ‘Lawmaker of the Year 2022’ Award

Liberia: Gbarpolu County District 2 Representative, Cllr. Kanie Wesso recently received the Lawmaker of the Year honor from the Global News Network (GNN).

Cllr. Wesso is the Chair on Judiciary at the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Gbarpolu Legislative Caucus.

According to the GNN, Rep. Cllr. Wesso earned the title based on his contributions to his district and national development.

The news network further urged the Representative to do more in order to serve as an example to other leaders in Liberia.

However, Rep. Cllr. Wesso lauded GNN for the honor bestowed upon him thus dedicating such to the people of Gbarpolu County, for reposing their trust in him to represent them at the 54th Legislature.

He used the occasion to urged public servants to uphold moral uprightness and self-esteem within society.

Representative Wesso said individuals occupying offices of public trust should contribute to the growth and development of society and its people as opposed to bragging; according to him, they are also the beckon of hope especially for the less privileged.

The Gbarpolu County District 2 Representative made the comment Friday during a news conference on Capitol Hill after been honored by Global News Network (GNN-Liberia) as Lawmaker of the Year 2022.

Representative Wesso was among others honored for their selfless commitment to duties, indelible achievements and invaluable services to country and people.

Rep. Cllr. Wesso recently dedicated a 45kilometer of road within District#2, a landmark road project that connects over 15 towns and adjacent. Other projects including, the construction of bridges, motorcycle roads, town halls, cultivation of ocer 500acres of land for agriculture and women empowerment and as well the provision of medical supplies to health facilities in the district among others.

GNN-Liberia was established in 1987 by a Liberian Journalist, Joel Cholo Brooks, who previously worked for several local and international new agencies including the British Broadcasting Corporation- BBC Africa with the sole purpose of providing credible news stories.
