Rep. ROSANA SCHAACK WINS GENDER CHAMPION AWARD
Congo Town May 26, 2021-WTVNEWS: Rivercess County Representative Rosana Schaack today bagged the USAID Gender Champion AWARD.Hon. Schaack is the current chair of the House of Representatives Committee on Gender and Social Protection.
The awards program which was held at the Ministerial Complex honored several other categories including farmer of the year, Civil Society Group of the Year, among others.The program was geared towards highlighting efforts of Liberia Development Giants who are contributing immensely to society.
Rep. Schaack was named the Gender Champion due to her numerous contribution to gender and as well as her role played in the submission and passage of the Domestic Violence Act among others.
The Gender Champion AWARD winning has been leading initiatives for the protection of women and girls with her organization called THINK Liberia. THINK provides a safehome and offers skills training to teenage mothers.
Meanwhile, Alex Devine, a youth driven individual won the Youth of the Year award. Alex has successfully carried out series of debates focusing on the education of young people through intellectualism. Others award winners were the Makona Farm, who won the farmer of the year, among others.
