President Boakai’s Gifts L$7.5M, others Kind to Muslim Community for Ramadan

Liberia: Liberian President Amb. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has made a nationwide donation of 7.5 Million Liberian Dollars for soup kind and five thousand five hundred (5500) 25kg bags of rice to Muslim communities as they mark the end of their Ramadan in Liberia.
The nationwide donation, which is being executed on behalf of the President by the Minister of State without Portfolio – Minister Mamaka Bility, is being distributed across Liberia’s 15 counties.
Minister Bility, on behalf of President Boakai, has successfully donated to various Mosques in most counties like Montserrado, Margibi, Bong, & Nimba Counties, etc.
The donation was officially launched on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Benson Street Mosque by Minister of State without Portfolio, Madam. Mamaka Bility.
During the launch at Benson Street Mosque and throughout the counties of Liberia, Minister Bility on behalf of President Boakai called on Muslims in Liberia to keep praying for Liberia and the President for the betterment of the country.
She conveyed the President’s regards and highlighted the initiative as a testament to his dedication to all faiths, mainly those in need; stressing the importance of the donation during Ramadan. She urged Muslims to accept the offering and reflect on its significance within the context of the holy month.
The President’s Official Representative accentuated the value of embracing the teachings of Ramadan and praised President Boakai for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Liberian populace.
Minister Bility is being accompanied by the Assistant Minister for Human Resource at the Ministry of State, Hon. Mohammed Kromah.
Some Mosques that have already experienced the President’s goodwill include Benson Street, Newport Street, Gurley Street, Salafiya, New Georgia, Chicken Farm, Black Ginnah, Fish Market, and 17th Street, Sinkor (United Dawah Ummah High School) Mosques in Montserrado County.
Others are the Lango Town Mosque, Salala United Islamic Mosque, Mohammed Bin Abdullah Mosque, Gbatala Central Mosque, Suakoko Mosque, Gbarnga Central Mosque, Palala Central Mosque in Bong County, and Ganta Central Mosque in Nimba County.
Meanwhile, recipients of President Boakai’s kind gesture have applauded him for his generosity.
They promised to use the President’s donation for its intended purpose, emphasizing the Liberian Muslim community’s spiritual perseverance to the government and Liberia as a whole.
They further expressed appreciation to the President’s office while affirming their various mosques’ commitment to the nation through prayers.
The religious leaders commended President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for the gesture, while some disclosed that it was the first time that their mosques received such a significant supply from the government.
They praised the timing of the initiative, corresponding with the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm), prayer (salah), reflection, and community.
