Monrovia-Liberia: With over a year of service in the capacity as Acting Public Works Minister, President George Manneh Weah has officially appointed Madam Ruth Coker Collins as Minister of Public Works.
Madam Coker-Collins appointed is subject to the Liberian Senate’s confirmation. Her appointment on May 4, 2022, replaces the late Mobutu Vlah Nyenpan who served in the capacity from 2018 to 2020.
Following the fallen Public Works Minister demise in 2020, Madam Coker-Collins was appointed as the Acting Minister up to 2022, which many characterized as overdue, especially considering her commitment in the capacity as an Acting Minister.
Minister Coker-Collins is one of the many women in the Weah-lef administration who has been overwhelmingly appreciated for the dedication towards her job which have clearly been displayed by the continuation and completion of several projects left by her former Boss.
The late Public Works Minister Mobutu Vlah Nyenpan died on October 30, 2020, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana, following two months of intense stroke.
