“JULY 26 GOES BEYOND A MERE CELEBRATION” AFRICAN LIBERATION LEAGUE POLITICAL LEADER SARA BEYSOLOW NYANTI ASSERTS

Liberia-July 26, 2023: The Political leader of the African Liberation League, Rev. Sara Beysolow Nyanti has said Liberia at 176 years should go beyond a mere celebration because there are still thousands of Liberians who are unable to feel themselves due to abject poverty.

According to madam Beysolow Nyanti, the celebration should be characterized by the pursuit of justice, equality, being free from external oppressors and prosperity for all our citizens noting that independence’s day celebration will only be meaningful if it is felt by every individual and uplifts the lives of the marginalized and vulnerable citizens.

In a statement issued on independence’s day (July 26, 2023), Madam Beysolow-Nyanti said Liberians must work tirelessly to eradicate poverty, discrimination, and corruption from the fabric of the society while at the same time cautioning them to renew their commitment to the principles of democracy, social justice, and inclusivity.

“Let us strive to build a nation where every citizen, regardless of their background, enjoys equal rights and opportunities, independence will only be meaningful if it is felt by every individual, if it uplifts the lives of the marginalized and the vulnerable” she said.

The African Liberation League Political leader added “On this auspicious occasion of Independence Day, I stand before you as a humble political leader to address our collective aspirations, celebrate our hard-fought freedom, and reaffirm our commitment to the principles upon which our nation was built, Independence Day holds a special place in our hearts, for it symbolizes the indomitable spirit of our forefathers who fought relentlessly to secure our liberty and reminds us of the sacrifices made by countless individuals who laid down their lives so that we could enjoy the blessings of freedom and self-governance”.

Rev. Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti who is also an ordained Revered said the Independence Day is not only an occasion for celebration but also a time for deep reflection. She noted that collective efforts are needed to protect and preserve the democratic values upon which the nation was founded emphasizing that every Liberian must uphold the rule of law, promote transparency, and foster a culture of accountability in all spheres of governance.

She noted that “Our independence should empower us to make informed decisions, engage in constructive dialogue, and participate actively in shaping the future of our nation, knowing that independence comes with responsibilities. As a leader, it is my duty to remind you that the fight for true independence is an ongoing one.

“Today, we pay tribute to their courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication to our nation, this day is not only an occasion for celebration but also a time for deep reflection. As a leader, it is my duty to remind you that the fight for true independence is an ongoing one.”

The “ALL“ Political leader encouraged all Liberians to embrace the spirit of unity and cooperation as Liberians celebrate Independence’s Day saying divisions and discord can only weaken the foundations of our nation. She said it is through dialogue, understanding, and respect for diverse opinions that we can forge a common vision for progress, “Together, we can overcome any challenges that may come our way and build a stronger, more prosperous nation for future generations”.

She concluded by saying “let us remember the struggles of the past, celebrate our achievements, and envision a brighter future. Let us commit ourselves to the ideals of justice, equality, and freedom. As a leader, I am dedicated to serving you, the people, and working tirelessly to fulfill the promises of our independence. Together, let us march forward, united in our pursuit of a better tomorrow”.

Rev. Beysolow-Nyanti is a presidential candidate in the pending October elections.

She served the United Nation for over 22 years in different capacities. In 2003, She served as program director for the National AIDS Control Program in Monrovia, Liberia. She also served as the GFATM program in Nepal, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) representative in Yemen (2019 – 202) and in Gambia (2015 – 2017).

Prior to her representational roles, Madam Nyanti served in several technical positions to develop system for large scale grants management, Ebola response, social protection /cash transfers, HIV/ AIDS and the health and education for UNICEF and UNDP.

After about 18 months, she was appointed as Deputy Special Representative to the United Nations in South Suden and humanitarian coordinator for East African Nations. She later retired in July 2023 and now running for the highest office in the country.
