In GBARNGA, Bong County….YOUTHS URGED TO BREAK SILENCE ON RAPE

Gbarnga, Bong County-October 1 2020-WTVNEW: A Change Agent and Youth Representative at the Young Men Christian Association Ganta branch Ms. Abigal B.L Freeman has cautioned youths to break silence on rape and other Sexual and Gender-Based Violence issues in their respective communities.

Ms. Freeman said if the issue of rape is to be minimized in Liberia, youths should stand up and fight for the future of girls and women affected by SGBV in their localities.

She named community silence, poverty, culture affiliation as some of the major factors of continuous violence against women and girls in society.

Abigal Freeman, a young lady who believes in human rights and justice mentioned the case of the late Odell Sherman and other SGBV cases that have been compromised in Liberia, something she thinks needs to change for the common good of justice.
