GoL says no increase in rice price
The Government of Liberia has announced that there is no increment in rice price.
Following a brief meeting between President Joseph Boakai and rice importers in Monrovia on Tuesday, Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana told journalists that President Boakai has mandated rice importers not to increase any price of rice, and that the price of a 25kg bag of rice remains the same.
Recently the Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced a little increment in the price of a 25kg bag of rice from $16.75 to $18.50, meaning the government’s current price for a 25kg bag of rice is $18.50.
However there has been an increase in the price of the 25kg bag of rice across Liberia’s markets recently.
