Liberia: Amid claims and counter claims of Former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott non-cooperation to supporting police ongoing investigation into the murder of her daughter Charloe Musu, Cllr. Scott has Rubbished Police allegations.

Following her appearance along with a team of lawyers at the Police central Headquarters in Monrovia on Friday March 3, 2023, Cllr. Scott disclosed that she remained available to the Liberia National Police in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

It was reported by Authorities of the LNP that Cllr. Scott has been refusing to cooperate and aid Police investigation.

Cllr. Scott noted that the Police had previously requested audience with occupants of her house, to which, they were made available for questioning. She however pledged her unflinching support to a fair police investigation in ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to Justice.

Though she did not disclose any information relative to the outcome of Police questioning, Cllr. Scott urged the government of Liberia to ensure a fair investigation, noting that “this is the only way justice will be served”.

Cllr. Scott earlier indicated no-confidence in the police to conduct a proper investigation of the matter, as such; the help of the International community is needed.

She appeared at the Police Headquarters on Friday based on a ‘threat of Court action’ by the Police for her failure to avail herself.

Police, in a statement Thursday March 2, 2023, threatened legal actions against Cllr. Scott and all occupants including Gertrude Newton, Rebecca Youdeh Wisner, and Alice Johnson for failure to appear at the LNP headquarters in Monrovia on Friday March 3, 2023.

Meanwhile, Police have revealed that it will provide update to the Public on the ongoing investigation on Monday, March 6, 2023. Analysts are skeptical that the Monday Police preliminary report may indict Cllr. Scott into the murder of her daughter. They believe the proceedings of the matter is utterly becoming political, thus ignoring rights violation and protection.

It can be recalled that on February 22, 2023, unknown armed men attacked the home of Cllr. Scott in Brewerville, District 17, Montserrado County, thereby killing her daughter and injuring other occupants in their home.

Cllr. Scott had since reportedly raised alarm about the threat to her life but said nothing was done by the LNP till the gruesome murder of her daughter.
