Continuing Munah’s Legacy:Rep. Foko Delivers First District Report..Calls for Unity

LIBERIA-WTVNEWS: Montserrado County District number nine (9) Representative, Hon. Saah Foko has called on his constituents to put aside their political garments and combine hands to work for the general good of the district.

Rep. Foko averred that the development of the district requires collective effort of each and every one it does not rest on the shoulder of an individual or one or few persons.

He made these assertions when he recently delivered his 1st District Annual Report for the past one (1) year.

“In accordance with democratic leadership best practice, it is my pleasing duty at this moment to present my first report to the people of this unique District. This report covers the activities of my office at the House of Representatives, and my District Office in Larkpazee”.

Prior to commencing reading of his district report, he remembered the dead especially his predecessor, Hon. Munah Youngblood and all those who helped in ensuring he won the Elections.

“Drawing on my promises during the elections, I asked that you make me your Representative to continue the Munah’s Legacy; this was to ensure the implementation of resolutions passed by the district and other social development programs my late boss initiated. For instance, the district resolution of 2014 to rehabilitate the Fiamah Market, the District Resolution of 2019 to use the Twenty thousand United States dollars (US$20,000) from China Union to construct a footpath bridge linking Good Shepherd Community to the fiamah Community, the resolution to construct a District Administrative Building and the resolution to appeal for the extension of the Nancy Doe Community School to High School, etc. Further on, promises were to maintain 4 visibility and engagement across the district. It is therefore important to note that this report covers additional initiatives we undertook beyond my promises. Let me note that our district is still faced with many other challenges (Water & Sanitation, Electricity, Security, Youth Empowerment & Employment amongst others), but it will take our collective efforts as a district putting aside our political differences and shouldering the district’s interest”.

He lauded contenders of the 2020 elections and rallied their efforts for the district development. “Having said that, let me again appreciate all those candidates from the December 8, 2020 poll for their cooperation in moving our District forward, special recognition to brother Edmond K.P.P Lloyd, Mr. Saah Roberts and Mr. Miller Catakaw for demonstrating true love for the district and its people. I also want to use this time appreciate H.E President George M. Weah for his support toward the good people of our district. A very special thanks goes to my grandma, Mrs. Elizabeth S.B Pelham for all the advisory roles played and continue to play in the service to our people”.

“As we move forward to implement our responsibilities in 2022, we ask that you join us through recommendations, by calling the district office at 0777666414 or the capitol building office at 0880793396 or drop your suggestions, recommendations and/or comments at the District Office in Lakpazee Community across from the Palava Hut”.

Rep. Foko thanked the people of district 9 for their tireless support to ensuring development is yielded in the district and urged continuance of their efforts.
