Rep. Karfiah Lights Up Gbarnga City In favor of his Bong Senatorial Bid

Gbarnga-March 18, 2023: Bong County electoral district 5 representative, Edward W. Karfiah on March 18, 2023 switched on phase one of his electrification project of major Communities in Gbarnga. The ceremony took place at the Chief Compound Community, Gbarnga.

Gbarnga is the capital city of Bong County in central Liberia.

It can be recalled on January 1, 2023, the People Unification Party (PUP) lawmaker who is also a Senatorial Aspirant of Bong County launched the lighting of major Communities in Gbarnga to stimulate the availability of electricity and also put an end to the high increase of criminal activities in the central region of Liberia, Gbarnga.

The cost of the electrification project is approximately US$175,000.

According to Rep. Karfiah, his office had previously negotiated with the management of Jungle Energy Power (JEP) to do the electrification of many households in Gbarnga.

Following the launch of the project earlier this year, Rep. Karfiah then made available a brand new transformer including light poles as part of efforts to jumpstart the Project in Chief Compound Community.

Residents of Chief Compound Community will now have access to electricity in their respective homes.

Inhabitants of the Community and adjacent have lauded the lawmaker for the initiative, as they look forward to seeing another community being lighted in phase two of the project.

Rep. Karfiah is a serving his second term as Representative of District 5 Bong County. He has accepted a petition to contest the senatorial seat of Bong in the October 2023 elections.
