Congo Town, Liberia: The Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), a conglomeration of nine (9) political parties, says it will take punitive action to any of its members or executive members – regardless of Government Officials who fail to register in the ongoing 2023 Voter’s Registration process.

The ruling CDC through its National Chairman, Mulbah Morlu, said the decision is in accordance with the Party’s rules and laws to take punitive actions against executive members who will fail to form part of the Voter’s registration exercise.

The National Elections Commission began the first face of the 2023 biometric voters registration exercise on Monday, March 20, 2023 across six counties, including Montserrado, Margibi, Bomi, CapeMount, Gbarpolu and Bassa.

Speaking at the CDC National Headquarters in Congo Town on Monday, March 20, 20223, during the launch of the Party’s voter’s registration awareness program, Chairman Morlu disclosed that the measure is intended to increase partisans’ interest in the Biometric Voter Registration Exercise by the National Elections Commission.

According to Morlu, the real enemies of the party are not oppositions, rather partisans who deliberately refuse to form part of the registration process.

“We are ready for a one-time victory comes October this year โ€“ President George Weah must be re-elected. And I want to use this time to ask all members of the Coalition to report any executive member that you may know who will not form part of the registration process, when the process is finished, we will take punitive actions against any leader who fails to do so according to Party’s rules”, CDC Morlu

Morlu believes that individuals with such intention are on a mission to hinder the re-election of President George Weah.

The CDC National Chairman also started that the Party currently has about 28, 000 executive members in Monrovia and Montserrado County.

Chairman Morlu has at the same time warned that the Coalition for Democratic Change will further take several administrative actions including, when necessary, the suspension of executive members and partisans working in government who will fail to register in time.
