Bomi, Liberia: The Office of President Joseph Boakai in collaboration with the Cytarus Initiative led by its CEO Cytarus Grace Dahn, with support from the National Port Authority, has successfully completed the first phase of President Boakai’s “Go Back to School Campaign” across Bomi, Gbarpolu, and Grand Cape Mount counties.

The initiative, aimed at promoting academic excellence and assisting students from underprivileged backgrounds has provided over 2,000 book bags and thousands of copybooks to public school students.

According to Madam Dahn, the first phase of the initiative is valued at USD 53,000. The first phase of the project came to an end in the three counties with the next phase set to begin soon across other counties in Liberia. The distribution package given to each student includes a book bag, copybooks, pencils, and other academic supplies. In addition, CEO Cytarus Grace Dahn personally handed out cash donations to schools.

The academic materials were brought from Nigeria and distributed with the cooperation of the National Port Authority (NPA) managing Director, Mr. Sekou Dukuly.

While the first phase focused on the three counties, the campaign will eventually reach all 15 counties of Liberia according to CEO Dahn.

She said the campaign seeks to foster academic excellence and ensure that students are well-equipped as they return to school. She emphasized President Boakai’s vision of ensuring that all Liberian students have the opportunity to gain a quality education and help improve the country’s educational system.

Parents in the targeted counties expressed deep appreciation for the President’s gesture, with some describing him as “the best president Liberia has ever had.” Others noted that it was the first time they had received such a kind gesture from a sitting president demonstrating the tangible impact of President Boakai’s leadership.

The next phase of the “Go Back to School Campaign” is expected to commence shortly, with continued efforts to assist students and parents across the remaining counties of Liberia.
