Pres. Weah Applauds China on 74th Anniversary
Liberia: President George Manneh Weah has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China on the occasion commemorating the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
In the message to His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, and in his own name, extended warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of China as they observe this historic occasion.
According to a Foreign Ministry, the Liberian leader then hoped and prayed that as the people of China commemorate another milestone in their national existence under the leadership of His Excellency Xi Jinping, they will continue to enjoy the blessings of peace, unity and prosperity.
The Liberian leader entertained the hope that the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between the two countries and peoples will be further strengthened in the spirit of African solidarity as they work together in furtherance of the principles of the United Nations for the promotion of international peace and security.
President Weah further said he looks forward to working with his Chinese counterpart as he leads his compatriots to greater prosperity.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Embassy near Monrovia has organized an event in commemoration of the day.
