The law states that: “Every public official and Employee of the Government shall sign performance or financial bonds and shall, in addition declare his or her income, assets, and liabilities before taking office and after that and: at the end of every three years; on promotion or progression from one level to another; upon transfer to another public office; and upon retirement or resignation.

“I’m officially declaring my assets in fulfilment of the rule of law. As a Senator, I am obligated to declare my assets so the public can know what I have now and what I will have in the nearest future”.

According to the Senator, his sanction sparked lots of speculations in the public about his assets, so his declaration will inform the citizenry about real properties owned by him.

“People think I have so many properties, that’s why it’s good for me to declare these assets so the public can be informed about what I have”.

However, accepting the assets, Madam Patricia Barnaby, Assets Declaration and Verification Officer appreciated the Lawmaker for abiding by the rule of law.

She then verified the assets documents received, and granted him a receipt in her capacity.

Meanwhile, The LACC worker promised to deliver the documents to her bosses for onward publication.
