LNP ARRESTS 2016 MURDER SUSPECT

Monrovia, Liberia: The Liberia National Police (LNP) have arrested suspect Sam Alieu Kemokai who allegedly murdered 29 years old Mercy Gbagah on December 4, 2016.

The incident, according to the LNP statement, occurred in Logan Town December 2016, but the suspect absconded the scene. Suspect Sam Alieu Kemokai was re-arrested on April 9, 2022.

Police investigation established that suspect Sam Alieu Kemokai allegedly wasted acid water on the deceased and escaped on December 4, 2016 after committing the alleged crime.

The deceased relatives narrated to police investigators that after the accident, the victim was rushed to the JFK Medical hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival by doctors on duty.

The suspect is being detained at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police undergoing investigation.

“This is to assure the public that no matter how long it takes, we will do our utmost best in digging deep to bring perpetrators to face justice,
it is important for Police investigators to be given time in properly investigating cases, especially homicidal cases, in ensuring that perpetrators do not go with impunity”.

LNP in it’s release assured the late Mercy Gbagah family that justice will be served.
