Hope For Women’s Representation: Presidential Aspirant Sara Beysolow Nyanti Rally Liberians’ Support For 2023 Elections

Congo Town, Liberia-July 5, 2023: It seems the Political field of presidential candidates will not only be males instead a woman will join the fray and be on the ballot box for the October 2023 elections.

Sara Beysolow Nyanti, a staunch Liberian Diplomat who has served both locally and on international United Nations Mission across the world has announced her bid for the Liberian Presidency.

Madam Beysolow-Nyanti’s announcement as a presidential aspirant and Political leader of the African Liberation League, has reawaken the spirit for women political participation at the highest level of governance which is the presidency.

She will now be the lone female presidential aspirant after Movement for One LIberia (MOL) political leader and presidential aspirant Macdella Cooper pledged her support to the presidential bid of former vice president Joseph Boakai.

Addresing a press conference on Wednesday July 5, 2023 at the headquarters of the African Liberation League, Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti emphasized the need for women to lead the Liberian nation. She noted that Liberia remains the oldest undeveloped independent country in Africa due to inability of its past and present leaders to put the interest of the country and its people first.

“When we look at where we are developmentally, when we look at ourselves in terms of institutions building; we are not where we supposed to be, we are lacking far behind. Yes we had a crisis but many other countries have crisis”. I’m here because I want to serve you the Liberian people. I have served others around the world, I served children around the world; I served men and I serve, I want to serve you now”, Sara Beslow Nayanti emphasized.

The African Liberation League standard-bearer wants Liberians from all walks of life support her political endeavor; noting that it is time to deliver the Liberian people from the hardship and untold suffering by electing her during the October polls.

She also disclosed that the African Liberation League is a grassroot movement that is seeking ways to better the country and its people but can only accomplish this when Liberians are apart of the process through joining their movement for a better Liberia.

She recounted that Liberia is at the cross roads under the Weah led government; something which has triggered her desire to contest for the Liberian presidency in the October 10, 2023 elections to rescue Liberians.

“Nation building is about everybody. It is about the 5 million people, where ever we find ourselves around this world. All Liberians are here to build Liberia. Liberian in the diaspora are required, all Liberians all over this world; where ever you found yourself if you are a Liberian, a proud to be Liberian I am, please join us. This is a grass root organization, we don’t have big names big profile but we have big hearts. Hearts that want to serve you, heart that want to join together to reach the people and ensure that together we build this nation”, she rallied Liberians support.

Sara Beysolow Nyanti served the United Nation for over 22 years in different capacities. In 2003, She served as program director for the National AIDS Control Program in Monrovia, Liberia.

Beysolow Nyanti also served as the GFATM program in Nepal, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) representative in Yemen (2019 – 202) and in Gambia (2015 – 2017).

Prior to her representational roles, madam Nyanti served in several technical positions to develop system for large scale grants management, Ebola response, social protection /cash transfers, HIV/ AIDS and the health and edication for UNICEF and UNDP.

After about 18 months, she was appointed as Deputy Special Representative to the United Nations in South Suden and humanitarian coordinator for East African Nations. She later retire in July 2023.
