Gender Ministry Identifies with President’s Motorcade Accident Victim

Paynesville: The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has paid a courtesy visit to victim of accident involving President Joseph Boakai’s motorcade.

It can be recalled on 24th July the President convey got involved in an accident in Rehab community leaving one dead and few injured.

Victim Masily N. Kenneth was among those affected by the incident. In solidarity with the situation, the Ministry through its Assistant Minister Ophelia J S Kennedy paid a visit to the victim during the week.

During the visit, Hon. Kennedy presented a purse on behalf of the ministry and extended the minister’s sentiments, expressing the institution’s unwavering support during this challenging time.

“We are here today to show our solidarity with Ms. Kenneh and to assure her that the Ministry of Gender stands by her side. We wish her a swift and full recovery,” stated Hon. Kennedy. “Ms. Kenneh’s work with TEAM Inc. in advocating for women’s rights and empowerment is invaluable, and we want her to know that her contributions are deeply appreciated.”

Madam Kennedy explained the accident drew significant attention and concern from the public reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to supporting those who dedicate their lives to advancing gender equality and social justice.

She stated that the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection remains steadfast in its mission to protect and uplift all members of society, particularly those who champion the rights of women and children.

Meanwhile, the survivor Ms. Kenneh expressed her gratitude to the ministry for the support.

“I am deeply touched by the ministry’s kindness and the visit today It strengthens my resolve to continue working towards a more equitable society,” she said.

Reinstating its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens, particularly those who are vulnerable or in need.

The visit to Madam Kenneth underscores the ministry’s dedication to recognizing and supporting the invaluable contributions of women advocates and activists in Liberia. Championing the rights and welfare of women and children, working towards a future where equality and justice prevail.
