CORRUPTION GROWS TEETH AT BUCHANAN PORT…… As NPA Suspends Buchanan Port Manager, others For Financial Impropriety

Buchanan-July 16, 2021-WTVNEWS: Fresh reports from the Port City of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, indicates that the head of the Buchanan Port Mr. Charles McArthur Gull has been accused of stealing over 500K.

Mr. Gull is being investigated by security apparatuses in Buchanan for the missing amount of US$252,000.00 from the Port’s account. The money was a payment from concessionaire ArcelorMittal.

Sources at the Port stated that the money was taken from the account on an installment basis secretly by those holding signatory access to the account.

A National Port Authority release signed by its Public Relations Officer gas however confirmed the immediate Suspension without pay of Mr. Gull and Amara Kamara, chief Statistician.

“The Port Authority has suspended the Buchanan Port Manager, Mr. Charles D. Gull, and Amara Kamara, Chief Statistician, Out- Station ports, with immediate effect without pay for “alleged financial impropriety”.
The NOA release emphasized that the two employees will remain suspended until the outcome of an ongoing investigation to which they have been subjected to.

However, the NPA has clarified that its action follows the required norms that govern them, that which they said prohibits embezzlement and other unprecedented acts of such.

“These actions are in straight adherence to the NPAโ€™s administrative ax against any of its staff who may be found punishable for unscrupulous acts”, the release revealed.

The National Port Authority has however assured further findings concerning the ongoing probe and vowed to abreast the public with subsequent actions of its Management.
