Liberia-March 22, 2023: Preliminary findings from the autopsy conducted on the body of the late Charloe Musu suggested “Exsanguination” (drained of blood).
The Liberian government through the Ministry of Justice on March 22, 2023 conducted an autopsy on the remains of Charloe to probe the actual cause of the death. Since the gruesome murder of the 24yrs old girl on February 22, 2023 in the home of Former Chief Justice Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott in Brewerville, Police have made no arrest of the alleged Perpetrator (s).
According to the Liberian Chief Pathologist Dr. D. Benedict Kolee who conducted the autopsy, Charloe died due to the cut of one of her arteries (intercostal arteries).
Dr. Kolee furthered that the cut of the left arteries led to the free flow of blood to the chest, something he said led to the collapse of the left lung.
“She lost so much blood. The blood that flowed to the left chest collapsed the left lung, meaning it suppressed it, so the left lung was not working” he added.
The Liberian Chief Pathologist clarified that the provisional report of the cause of the death of Charloe Musu is just a clue that will reveal the actual cause of death.
“This is the first time I am doing this. This the provisional cause of death, meaning it could be or not”, he said.
Dr. D. Benedict Kolee at the same time disclosed that the final report from the autopsy conducted will be available in two weeks.
The autopsy was conducted on March 21, 2023 in the presence of the Family, government of Liberia, the media and other civil society organizations at the St. Moses Funeral Parlor.
For his part, Police Spokesman Moses Carter recommits the Liberia National Police (LNP) preparedness to ensuring the actual cause of death and Justice for the late Charloe Musu.
This is an open investigation that is aimed at establishing facts surrounding what happened at the home of the former Chief Justice. The conduct of the autopsy is to inform the ongoing investigation. With this process and the process of talking to a person of interest, we we are going to get to the bottom of this”, he stressed.
It can be recalled, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at about 11:00 PM, alleged armed robbers evaded the home of Liberia’s former Chief Justice, Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott, which led to the gruesome murder of Charloe Musu with several others sustaining injuries.
There has been claims and counter claims surrounding the death.
On Thursday, Morning 16 March 2023, members of the Musu Family of murdered Charloe Musu stormed the Ministry of Justice dressed in black to seek clarification on what they termed as an apparent conspiracy to unjustifiable exclude them from key decisions concerning the remains of their daughter.
The family had earlier called for the intervention of the International community in the ongoing investigation as they termed the involvement of the International community as the only means of receiving justice.
