CDC Islamic Community Reaffirms Support for President Weah Re-elections Bid

Liberia: For prioritizing religious tolerance coupled with massive development, the Islamic Affairs of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has reaffirmed their support for the re-election bid of President George Weah.
The group comprises people predominantly of the Islamic religion.

Reading the petition statement on behalf of the group Monday, September 18, 2023 at the headquarters of the Coalition for Democratic Change, Oumu sall outlined several reasons for their reaffirmation. She named the building of modern market structures across the country; construction of 332 kilometers of roads; free tuition policy at all public universities; and payment of WASSCE fees for 12th graders among others.

In remarks, the Secretary General of the CDC, Jefferson Tamba Koijee thanked the group for their reaffirmation of support. He termed Muslims as people of gratitude, adding that the Coalition for Democratic Change is glad to receive another reaffirmation for the re-election of the party’s standard bearer.

Receiving the petition statement on behalf of President George Weah, Minister of State, Wesseh Blamoh acknowledged the group’s affirmation and noted that he is not surprised at the decision taken.

While promising to deliver the statement to the Liberian leader, Minister Blamoh further thanked the Muslim community for being farsighted in reposing their confidence in President Weah for his second term bid.
