Bong County Superintendent Norris’ 100-day Development Initiatives in Full Swing

GBARNGA: July 12, 2024: As a means of achieving the 100-day development agenda of Bong County Superintendent Hawa Norris, massive construction and renovation works have begun on major public facilities earmarked by the superintendent’s office for completion in one hundred days.

Major renovation is currently being carried out at the Superintendent Compound and Gbarnga Administrative building.

Touring with a team of newsmen at the facilities on during the week the Bong County Development Officer, Sedekie L. Kromah assured residents that the superintendent’s 100-day development plans will be achieved in not more than hundred days.

Mr. Kromah furthered that renovation works being done at the long-abandoned superintendent compound are focused on fencing the facility, replacing the decapitated ceiling tiles, wires, pipes, floor tiles, commodes, and repainting the entire facility amongst others.

For the Gbarnga Administrative Building, Development Officer disclosed that the entire parameters of the facility will be fenced and major renovation of offices, alongside the administration hall and the purchasing of furniture amongst others. According to Kromah, materials for the construction and renovation works have already started arriving at the sites of these facilities.

He then called on members of the public, especially community residents who are close to the construction sites to serve as watchdogs for the works and fully cooperate with the contractor companies as the process goes on.

The Bong County Superintendent Compound revolution work is being done by the JEAMCCO INC Construction Company, while the Gbarnga Administration Building fencing and renovation works are being undertaken by the ‘Success Engineering and Construction Company’, both hired by the County’s leadership through what Mr. Kromah described as bidding processes in line with the PPCC laws.

However, during her induction into office on May 14, 2024, superintendent Hawa Norris presented her administration’s 100-day development agenda and budget to the County Council following a joint meeting on July 1, 2024. In the superintendent’s development plans, she highlighted the start of her administration’s efforts with the upliftment of the County development agenda.

Notable amongst the superintendent’s 100-day development plans are the fencing of the Gbarnga Administration Building, the improvement of some facilities at the building expected to host the superintendent, her officials’ offices and the renovation of the residential compound. She also listed the opening of large ‘Bean Farms’ across several districts in the county as a means of generating funds for the county.

The Bong County superintendent’s developmental plans’ budget was approved by the county’s council in a tone of USD three hundred two thousand, nine hundred thirteen dollars, thirty-six cents. (USD 302, 913.36) following a thorough perusal.

Meanwhile, speaking to Reporters at the construction sites, Engineers undertaking the construction and renovation projects assured the leadership of Bong County and residents of providing quality services for monies spent for the projects. They also committed themselves to completing their individual projects in the time mentioned for the projects.
