FIDELITY CEO URGES COLLABORATION TO ADVANCE LIBERIA’s HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

Monrovia, Liberia: The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Fidelity Healthcare Services Inc. has stressed the need for effective collaboration in Liberia’s healthcare system to advance the sector.

According to Mr. Christian O. Biney, if Liberia’s healthcare system will be improved to the expectations of Liberians, there is a need for collaboration and not solely depending on National Government alone in the process.

Currently, Liberia’s healthcare system depends heavily on international donor support, and many healthcare facilities in the country are run by the government, donors, or through non-governmental organizations (NGOs), including faith-based organizations.

Liberians suffer from high mortality resulting from a combination of poor living conditions and lack of quality health care. Infectious diseases are major contributors to poor health.

But Mr. Biney believes with collaboration from Liberians both in and out of the country, Liberia can experience an advanced healthcare system soon. “The only thing we need to do is to prioritize and jointly collaborate in building the healthcare system of our country. For example, a healthcare center without a laboratory is not really a functional healthcare center, the government alone cannot do it all, so we need collaboration to prioritize the health system”, Mr. Biney asserted.

He spoke over the weekend when a local civil society group, the Society for the Promotion of Peace, National Reconciliation and Reunification, presented a certificate of appreciation to the Fidelity Healthcare Services Incorporated for being a very good, reliable, and productive healthcare center in Liberia.

Receiving the certificate on behalf of his institution, Biney assured Liberians of his institution’s continuous commitment to providing quality and affordable medical services in the country.

“We often receive references from the JFK Hospital, SOS, the Catholic Hospital, and even as far as Bong County for medical assistance and we are always committed to providing quality services to our people”, he said.

The Fidelity Healthcare has been set up to provide primary and specialist healthcare delivery services that include but are not limited to the following; General Medicine, Dialysis services, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Medical Laboratory, Medical Imaging – X-ray, ECG, Ultrasound, Colposcopy and Dental X-ray, Pharmacy, Minor and Major Surgical Services and more.

Speaking further, Mr. Biney disclosed that Fidelity also relies on its Ghana network of specialists and healthcare facilities to provide referral and evacuation services to its patients.

Meanwhile, the head and billing Manager of the Fidelity Healthcare Services Incorporated, Ms. Rasheda E. Kamara, revealed that the vision of the institution is to meet international Standards at all times.

Ms. Kamara intoned that her institution is committed to improving healthcare standards in Liberia through innovation, applied research, and community-based services.“We are committed to delivering healthcare services of international standards in Liberia that we are proud of”, Ms. Kamara said.

The Fidelity Healthcare Services Inc. is one of the most equipped and reputable private healthcare facilities in Monrovia. It was incorporated in March 2016 as Fidelity Healthcare Services Inc, located on the 20th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia, about 200 meters away from Liberia’s premiere healthcare center, the JFK Teaching Hospital.
